A group of cloistered Carmelite nuns are asking for your intentions so that they can pray for you. Imagine!  We would actually be doing them a favor to ask for their prayers. All cloistered nuns pray for us, (praise God for such a blessing).

My friend, Mother Madonna, the prioress of the Carmelites of the Carmel of Mary in Wahpeton, North Dakota emailed me asking for intentions so their sisters can pray for us; something they love doing.

Mother Madonna initially wrote to thank me for including her in a vocations article in Our Sunday Visitor newspaper. Here is her email:
Healthy greetings on this Monday of Holy Week! Thank you very much for writing so beautifully about what I shared.
You really have a gift!
“And together we can do something beautiful for God!”
I hope and pray you and all your family are surviving the pandemic. As we place all our trust in Jesus, we offer these days of prayer to Him, knowing He is at our side, listening to our little sighs of concern.
I want to put an ad in the newspaper saying:
NEEDED-
Your prayer requests ~~
TO: Carmelite Nuns
( I want people to know we are here for them during
this pandemic).
Our dear Sister Imelda of Jesus, O.Carm., 91, went HOME to God
on April 2!  She entered the monastery in Pennsylvania at 16!!
(Can you imagine?)
        And yesterday I received a vocation inquiry….
Please keep her in your prayers. She is from New Mexico.
Recently, I interviewed Mother Madonna for an article, (yet to be written) about her vocation story and her love of the cloistered life. I was touched to realize how much she and all cloistered nuns love us. Of course they love God; I expected that. But in loving him, they love all his children and pray for us to one day be together with God in Heaven. These sisters have dedicated their lives to God, and in doing so, they are dedicated to praying for us. Let us in turn pray for them, for their vocations to be strong and joy-filled, and for those God is calling to the cloister, to be open to that call.

After this article was up for less than 24 hours, I received this message from Mother Madonna:
Alleluia,  Christ is risen!
We are so grateful for the prayer intentions that are pouring in.
We hope they are able to visit our Website (here), Facebook (Carmelites of the Carmel of Mary)
and share our email address with their families  and friends.
Thank you very much!
Easter blessings,

Mother Madonna and Sisters
